As usual, another busy week in the academy, culminating in Children in Need day on Friday.  We raised a total of £112 which includes £11 raised by Mrs Geldard who made some beautiful miniature Pudsey Bear faces to wear on lapels.

A reminder and update on key diary dates (which are all in the parents' calendar on the home page of this website).  The academy Xmas lunch will take place on Friday 14th December.  We are also pleased to announce that we will be holding an informal parents session for you to drop-in at any time between 15:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday 26th November.  The session will be to show you how our key learning programmes - Lexia and Maths Whizz work and how you can use them at home.  We will also be able to answer any questions about homework and why it is so important that your child is positively encouraged to do this.  If there is anything else that we can help with during this session then we will do our best to do so.

We found a very useful website this week which may be helpful for you.  The address is www.iknowican.co.uk and it can help with issues of safety, volunteering, keeping healthy and finding out about activities in Barnsley.  We thoroughly recommend it.

Finally, a little reminder to please use the School Gateway app whenever you can to pay for academy lunches, visits and music lessons.  This is a very easy way for you to pay and saves us having to handle large amounts of cash.  We therefore hope that this is a 'win/win' situation.
