Its come to our attention this week that a number of pupils have Facebook pages and have been 'liking' or commenting on the Meadstead Primary Academy Facebook page. We are concerned about this because it potentially links the name, photograph and school of the pupils altogether, obviously making them vulnerable. Mrs Baxter has spoken with all pupils who said they had a Facebook page. She explained the dangers to them and asked them not to 'like' or comment on the school Facebook page. Mrs Baxter has also shown them how to make their pages more secure and stressed the importance of only being 'friends' with someone that you know. Mrs Baxter has also asked them to speak with their parents about the issue. Mrs Baxter also made it quite clear that Facebook do not allow children under the age of 13 to have an account therefore technically non of the children should have been in this position to begin with.
