Appointment of Head Teacher

posted 29 Jan 2016, 08:49 by Nichola Smith   [ updated 29 Jan 2016, 08:59 ]

As you are aware we have been running the Academy for the last term with Mrs Nichola Smith as our Interim Head Teacher. It has been a priority to secure a permanent Head Teacher for Meadstead to ensure we have stability and the team in place to move us on wards and upwards.

Following a full recruitment process, I am very pleased to report that Mrs Smith has been successfully appointed in this position with immediate effect and will continue to lead our Academy with the support of the staff team and Governing Body.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate her on this achievement and look forward to the journey from here on wards.

 Kind Regards

 Amy Kitson

 Chair of Governors at Meadstead

Hello everyone
We have some very exciting events happening this week in the Academy:

Tuesday 22nd - Class Oxford to take part in a Shakespeare cast workshop at the Civic - 1-5
Wednesday 23rd - Some of the year 3 and 4 pupils are going to cheer on Manchester United
Wednesday 23rd - Individual and family photos (families with children not currently in the Academy that would like a family photograph, please arrive at 8.30am at the main reception).
Thursday 24th- Children across the Academy will be baking to prepare lots of tasty goodies for our Macmillan coffee afternoon.
Friday 25th - All parents are invited to take part in our Macmillan Coffee afternoon, please come along and support this great cause. It starts at 1.30 (please arrive through main reception) and finishes at 3.00pm (you can take your children early). There will be lots of stalls manned by the children selling lots of tasty goodies and drinks that you can share with the staff and children in the Academy. All the children are really looking forward to this event. If you would like to donate any baking towards this event then please feel free to do so.
Harvest Festival -Don't forget that each class is having a competition to see who can collect the most produce - the class that collects the most will win a prize. The Harvest will take place at Royston Church this year and you are more than welcome to join in the festival. You would need to make your own way there and your children would still need collecting from the school at the end of the day. All classes except Foundation stage 1 (butterflies) will be taking part due to the 1:1 supervision needed for trips

This week's news - Fri 11th September 2015
It has been a busy week in the Academy with all children starting to settle into their new classes and academy routines.

A new format of newsletter will be coming out today and we would really love to gain your feedback on this format, and if there is anything else you like adding to the newsletter. An electronic copy of this can be found under parent communications.

Also, coming home with the children today is a updated parent information booklet that has all the core information relating to the academy. An electronic version of this can be found under parent communications.

We would like to thank all the parents for their patience and support whilst trying to embed the new morning routine. We would really appreciate if you can ensure that your child has a reading book every morning to read as part of this routine.

As always if there is any thing you would like to discus with regards to your child's education then please feel free to call in for a chat.
