AET Vision for Mathematics

It is our duty to inspire young people see the true beauty of mathematics in the

wider world by bringing it alive and thereby making it exciting, relevant and easy.

Meadstead Vision

At Meadstead Primary Academy we aim to ensure that pupils should make rich connections across mathematical ideas. Pupils who grasp concepts rapidly should be challenged through being offered rich and sophisticated problems before any acceleration through new content. Topics can be interrelated to encourage pupils to make connections between ideas. The AET maths curriculum builds on previous knowledge and skills acquired in the previous year and provides the children with opportunities to practise and further develop these skills and deepen their understanding.
